Our Approach

The village, NBV, with its low population and low financial base has been avoided by several companies as a potential market, just as MGP has done. And despite efforts by the Government of India to address the issue of non-electricity, the problem still exists because they have focused their efforts only in areas with higher population.

Our approach is therefore an intervention strategy aimed at instituting a dependable nighttime solar lighting system in NBV by providing resources in form of the solar panels and power distribution equipment’s, and also providing sustainability through MGP.

Hence, implementing this project would bring an improvement to the quality of life of NBV natives who die of preventable causes, students who have to study and do homework with dim light, natives who spend their evenings in darkness, inhale kerosene exhaust, have to travel long distances to buy government subsidized kerosene, and others who have to live in fear that someone may be stealing their belongings at night. It would also have an immediate impact of creating the opportunity for entrepreneurial activity even after the sun goes down by extending the period during the day when people can work.
